Altun Ha/Cave Tubing Adventure

This tours starts at your port of entry with a city tour, here you will be traveling through the principal streets of the Old capital, learning about its rich history and culture, after passing through the city we will make our way unto the western highway for another 40 minutes. At this point you will be traveling through several rural communities, getting an up close view of our people and the way of life in Belize. You will be learning about the topography of the country while passing through several eco system.

After this relaxing and educational drive we will arrive at the cave park Nohoch Chen, get geared up with your headlights/ Helmet, and life vests, you will not need to carry any tubes at this point your tubes are taken to the entrance of the caves before your arrival. Start your hike through the lush rainforest as did the ancient Mayans into the abyss of Xibalba (caves). On this scenic hike learn about the ancient remedies for everyday illness, enjoy a bath in the sacred river of caves branch and prepare your journey through the underworld as you defeat the nine lords and exit into a new form of life as the native Mayans believed. View Mother Nature’s mysterious designs and art work in the caves as you tube done the sacred river of the Mayans, and enjoy the scenic view of the open river with the beautiful flora and fauna that surrounds you.

Now we are ready for a delicious authentic Belizean dish; before we continue our adventures unto the Ancient Homes of the Mayas (Altun Ha Temples). This journey to the temples will take us for another 40 minute ride north of the country. Upon arriving at Altun Ha you will be able to use the facilities before walking over in to the ancient city, take a deep breath close your eyes and picture this once magnificent city at its peak. Walk the paths, hike the temples and take in the rich History of the site provided by your guide. After this educational adventure we will make our way back to the pick-up location which will be a 45 minutes ride away.
